A person, who has been assigned an alternative status during the period form March 1 to April 6, 2021 (during the emergency situation related to Covid-19) and who has reached the age necessary to receive the old-age pension or who has been determined with disability is entitled to receive a one-time aid of 200 euros.
The parent, custodian, foster family or the head of the long-term social care and social rehabilitation institution is entitled to receive a one-time aid of 500 euros for a child, who has been assigned an alternative status during the period form March 1 to April 6, 2021.
In order for the person to receive any of these services, an application addressed to SSIA is required, stating:

name, surname, personal code, phone number or e-mail address of the applicant,

number of an account with a credit institution or postal payment system of the Republic of Latvia.
If the aid is requested for the child, the name, surname and personal code of the child shall be stated.
In order to receive the aid, an application shall be submitted to the SSIA. This can be submitted;

electronically to the official e-address;
-
electronically to the e-mail address pasts@vsaa.gov.lv (the application shall be signed with secure electronic signature containing time stamp);

alternatively, the applications may be sent to the SSIA by post to: Meža iela 7, Valmiera, LV-4201, or left at the post boxes in the SSIA Customer service centres during working hours from 8:30 to 17:00 o’clock.
The SSIA shall consider the application and pay the aid within 30 days from the date of receiving of the application.
Both the 500 euro and the 200 euro aid shall be paid only once, namely, once it has been paid, you are not entitled to receive it again.
If a person, who has reached the age required for receiving old-age pension or who has been determined with disability, simultaneously has a statement issued by the State Commission of Health and Capability Examiner Doctors on necessity of special care, the one-time aid shall be granted and paid to this person in double amount.
